The Y WA CEO

The financial year 2024-2025 I focused on strengthening connections across the Y WA – with our people, our communities, and our partners. Through meaningful conversations and visits across the state, we’ve celebrated the passion and dedication that drive our impact.

We’ve made significant progress in advancing our Education Strategy, with the School ReadY Program improving literacy and language outcomes for children across all 14 Y WA Early Learning Centres — and now being adopted by Y Whittlesea and Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn. Our Y School continues to see growth in student engagement and achievement, and our youth and community services are creating more safe, supportive spaces, including a new Education Engagement and Attainment Hub in East Newman.

As we celebrate 181 years of the Y, we continue to share our stories, strengthen our brand, and champion our role as a trusted leader in education and youth development. Together, we’re empowering children and young people to flourish and building a stronger future for our communities.

In this year’s annual report, we are excited to share the significant strides made during this phase of the Y’s strategic journey. Key highlights include the continued rollout of our School ReadY Program, the expansion of the Y School, the opening of a new community hub for our Education Engagement and Attainment Initiative, inspiring stories of young people flourishing through our services, and celebrations of our own people flourishing in their work.
